Katie Hornowski, LCSW

Katie Hornowski, LCSW is a native of Asheville and has a private practice downtown serving adults and adolescents. She found a passion for working with folks who have experienced trauma early in her career. She has followed a trauma training track in many modalities, including becoming certified in EMDR, becoming a certified practitioner for individuals and groups using Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®), and working as an Equine Therapist with Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Learning TRE® showed her the immense wisdom of the body in the healing process and this led her to enter into Sensorimotor Psychotherapy training, having currently completed Level I. She believes wholeheartedly in David Bercelli’s (of TRE®) Post Traumatic Growth model, having witnessed humbling healing work in her therapy practice. She is honored to be a witness to others healing and gets very excited about teaching practices to other care provides to increase their resiliency and self-care. You can learn more about Katie at

IMPORTANT: If you have had a current/recent trauma experience and are not under the care of a licensed mental health professional, please contact us first before signing up for this course. This course is ideal for those people ready to consciously and carefully deal with their trauma in a room with a group of people.
